Our client, the lead mobile strategist for Dun & Bradstreet, engaged the product design team to brainstorm and create a proof of concept that shows how D&B data could help the field sales rep persona conduct better business. His research indicated that there was a need for an easier way for sales reps to prepare for meetings in-order to acquire and retain customers.

In the end, the POC we created was an app that helps sales reps stay connected on-the-go via their mobile device. We did this by serving up insights, smart recommendations, and new opportunities.

We knew we needed to gain perspectives and insights from folks across the organization. We did this by including several team members in our workshops and brainstorming sessions. Key players included:

  • 2 Mobile Strategist
  • Leader of Development / Engineering
  • 2 Product Directors
  • 1 Sales Specialist
  • 3 Product Designers

Collaborated with stakeholders in a Human Centered Design workshop to learn, understand, and sketch ideas.

I then worked in 1-week design sprints to create screens and a prototype. After each design sprint our Usability Analyst tested the concept with Sales Reps.

This cycle repeated 3 times. In 30 days the team interviewed 22 users, designed a high-fidelity prototype, and collaborated in 2 HCD workshops.
